Meric Altug Gemalmaz

Welcome! 👋

A quick intro: I specialize in human-AI interaction, applied AI, and fairness. I’m passionate about building AI systems that are fair, responsible, and truly work for everyone—by addressing bias in AI-driven decisions and keeping people at the center of design. I earned my Ph.D. in June 2025 from the Department of Computer Science at Purdue University, where I was advised by Dr. Ming Yin. My work has been featured at leading AI conferences such as IJCAI and AIES.

Before grad school, I earned my bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (with distinction!) from Purdue in December 2018. Outside of research, I love catching up on tech trends. Always happy to connect and chat about AI, fairness, or anything tech!
